About Me
I trained as counsellor after retirement and am BACP registered (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and work to their ethical standards. I studied Integrative Counselling at Waverley Abbey College with my qualification awarded through Roehampton University in 2017. I also speak french fluently.
Further Training and Interests
I have volunteered with Restored Lives for people coping with separation and divorce since 2011 www.restoredlives.org
After the Deep Release Couple Counselling course led by Susie and Ken Donaldson in 2017 and the Embodied Hope ACC couple counselling course led by Richard Lahey-James in 2019, I completed specialist training and was awarded The Grove’s Certificate in Couple/Relationship Therapy in 2024.
Why Counselling?
There are times when life is tough, everyone goes through challenges. Talking to family, friends or colleagues may not be possible, appropriate or sufficient.
Dedicated time with a person who can listen and give you the space you need to process your thoughts and feelings can be helpful.
There are times when communication between two people is just too difficult. Talking to each other might be easier with a neutral third person, whatever type of couple you are; heterosexual, same sex, mother and daughter, father and son, siblings or colleagues etc.
Collaborative Working
I am a relational counsellor and like to work alongside people, encouraging them to set their own goals.
I treat everyone with respect and encourage them to take responsibility for their own process of change.
Working with Diversity
I am open to counselling people from any background, any orientation, with or without a faith.
My Ethos
I believe that change is possible at any age and that viewing life from a different perspective, whatever your circumstances, can be helpful. People have enormous resources within themselves.
